With a dream, a lot of determination and the support of her husband Edgar, Lola Carrasco built Otorongo, one of the first apart-hotels in Cuenca.
For over two decades she greeted every guest personally. Strangers became friends, and guests became family.

Lola's son and the manager of Otorongo. A biologist who has worked in tourism for several decades, he grew up among travelers and adventure. His passion for climbing, mountain biking and hiking is part of who he is, and part of the spirit of Otorongo.
A biologist, she is the one behind our beautiful garden, which brings hummingbirds and many other birds to our home. She is also our handywoman, leading every renovation. A true adventurer, you will often find her trail running or mountain biking in the mountains around Cuenca.
And none of this would be possible without our team: a group of incredible women who take care of every apartment and every guest, some of them for more than 25 years.
